After-camp shenenigans

Hello all!

Back from camp and getting nice and busy for my two weeks of free time. I got lots of baby-sitting with the MacKinnans done and finally got enough to pay for my new iPod. (Hooray!) I also went to my first SCA meeting (Society for Creative Anachronism, for those of you who don't know) and had a lovely time. I didn't understand a lot of the meeting, but afterwords we went a pub and had a coke and they gave us free nachos. I chatted with some really lovely people and got lots of ideas for starting my first garb. I think I'm going to start with 14th century. I love the fitted look of the dresses and they require reletively little in the way of undergarments, which can get expensive. I'm going to start with a basic wool kirtle and sideless surcoat over a linen chemise. Now I just need to get some money for it. :-P I also promised I would try fighting at the next practice, which I don't know if I'm going to regret now or not.

Now today I'm going to see PotC 2 with mmmickey. Captain Jack, here I come! And on Saturday I'm leaving for the cottage. Should be uneventful. (Plus I'm missing a SCA picnic at the Science Centre. *grr*) I better bring lots of books.
