Score!

Opera Atelier (an AMAZING opera company in Toronto) decided to have a costume sale. And guess who was there.

This guy! :-D

Most of the costumes were too tiny for me (damn dancer's physiques!), but I scored a great hoop skirt and panier for, wait for it... 25 DOLLARS EACH!

The panier under my pink petticoat and blue and white polonaise. Which really needs to be worked on a bit more, but there you go.

I just need to add ties to the bottom of the panier. It's got a little too much of a round shape, but tapes can easily fix that.

I just love the back of this dress.

And the hoop! It's super cute. I haven't measured it, but it has a smaller circumference, which works well since I'm 5'1. It also have a built-in quilted petticoat on top. One waistband, nice and easy!

These might even inspire me enough to do some historical sewing this summer!

I definitely want to do some improvements on my current costumes. The blue and white polonaise needs the sleeves replaced. The plaid bustle gown was a bit of a rush job. And my new regency petticoat has been sitting there for a WHILE now. Get cracking, Marion!
