I didn't have a new dress to wear to the Atcscars last night (my theatre company's award ceremony), so I decided to go for an older dress with funky hair. Thus:
I did a half-up mini beehive. I divided the front section of my hair and teased the crud out of it, then gently smoothed out the top to create a the bump. I then took the end section of the teased hair and curled it under the bump, then pinned the whole thing down. My lower section of hair I curled using a hot iron, sprayed it, let it cool, and then brushed it out to create a softer, more natural look. The huge bow comes from Claire's. I got it in a 10 for 10 sale, plus a plain white one. I think they're fab.
It was a really fun hairstyle, and if I do it without curling the bottom it would be a very quick and easy party hairdo. I took my inspiration from this beehive tutorial, which is for a full up-do. It looks SUPER cute, too. I'll have to try it out next time.
