I got really good progress on my 1920s Charley dress today. I had cut out and started pleating the skirt yesterday, and today I mostly have the body constructed. The whole idea for this dress was 1920s- easy! Not really, since I decided to have a fully pleated skirt. Measuring and ironing all those pleats takes TIME.
Anyway, I'm pretty happy with it so far. I just need to take in the bodice a little, hem it, and add the collar and cuffs. I also now want to make a matching belt, as I found wearing it with a belt took it in just enough to not look like a sack dress. I actually found with the belt and the 20s underwear on, it's pretty flattering!
EDIT:
Some view on Frauline. The floral stuff is the muslin for the collar. The real thing will be in matching cream crepe.
I also tried taking a few pics of me in it, and this is the only one that turned out well.
I am so pleased with the pleating on the skirt! And yes, those stocking seams are drawn on in sharpie. :-D
