First of all, the weird college feeling. I'm from Australia so I tend to get that in February/March. I always feel like I should be going back to school. I actually study part-time but that doesn't have the same feel to it as actually finding lecture theatres, taking classes and meeting new people. I feel like I should be lining up at the bookshop buying new books.
Regarding the parents thing, I think some of the problem is that our parents always expect us to be the same way as we used to be and not change very much. I love my parents but we definitely have our moments. Good luck sorting out your visit home.
Thirdly, it sounds like the story you're writing with your friend has become a challenge but I love the whole idea of sitting down co-writing a story like that. I hope you sort things out.
Last of all, it's your blog. I think that means you're entitled to write entries as long or as short as you like =)

I understand about your parents. Sometimes, I feel like I understand mine better these days and other times, I feel quite frustrated with them that they don't seem to have come to the same understanding of the world as I have which is completely unfair of me but I suspect they feel some of that too.
Wow, you've worked on that story for four years? You must be very committed to it. No matter how hard it is to stay interested or how bemusing your partner is, I hope you can stick with it since you've already so much time.
