A Visitor...

Had an interesting few days recently... things have been fun, but I'm starting to get bored of living in this house... already...

As I got my job, I worked over the weekend and there's not really much to report on that it has to be said. I sered a few people and just generally did fairly boring pricing up work. Then came back to uni on the Sunday night... the washing-up war still going on. Nothing more to report really. Had a good conversation with one or two of the housemates, which was nice as generally speaking it didnt involve wasing-up at all...

Then Monday. Having had many different jobs and ideas for projects, now is really the time things have to start to come together. Monday saw my group in an incredibly boring lecture about digital printing and file sizes/colour management... If you do not understand the term colour management, it basically describes in a blanket fashion how to get shots from your camera to a printed sheet and retain as much of what was originally captured on the camera as possible. Sounds easy - plug the camera in and print right? No... wrong... I won't bore you anymore, but there are so many variables... :| in many ways its a good job we had a lesson... its just a pity it was so utterly forgettable...

And to think I thought colour printing from film was annoying... :P (not really, I love it, I just find it difficult...). After this our presentation group got together to try and sort through some of that and get a decent plan together (speaking of which I better start work on that...). Incredibly enough most of the group showed up to the meeting (after some 'gentle persuasion' over the phone...) and work was indeed done. It has to be said, its an... interesting... project... This is one for the wiki-man to look-up, or infact an open challenge... research "WWM" in terms of photography... see what it comes up with... ;P thats what  our presentation has to be on (yes we were assigned it... I dont think it would've been chosen out of choice to be honest...).

Monday night and I finally caved in, ending up doing the washing-up... none of it was mine but when you start finding rotting, mouldy bread under the greasy piles of pots and pans, its time to stop being fecking childish... Although no one else did... Still, its done now and the kitchen is looking bright and clean for once. Becides which I kinda had to since Joe was coming over and I dont have enough money to eat out every night (yes it was That bad, NO pots to eat off AT ALL...). Its a pity its ended up that I've done it, but at the same time its not happening again and I soon forgot about the whole thing as me and Joe cooked pasta and watched Unbreakable!

Havent seen that film in aaaaaaaaages... but its fantastic, a great plot and some really cool twists. Bruce Willis gives a cracking performance, and despite being the most frail character in a film ever, Samuel L. Jackson is, of course very cool. Tuesday saw me head into uni for a personal one-to-one review of my work so far and amazingly, my tutor seemed well pleased with where I was at. Which is very good indeed. Tuesday night saw us enjoying the musics of Blue Origin (GREAT BAND), followed by Deluka (live performances) and several games of pool, which were also great fun (best out of three Joe won 2-1, I'll admit I didnt play well and I still say I'm crap and inconsistant generally, but then... well it'll be interesting to see if Joe admits our loss... :P). Both the live bands were actually really good, I ended up talking to the frontman of Blue Origin and getting a free CD which was very nice, if a little dodgy in the sound quality department. The thing about Blue Origin was... well, they were incredibly entertining... without really meaning to be...

The lead guitarist/vocalist played the crowd alot which was good, and we actually got told we were a great audience which was a first at the LVR, considering how few people turn up every week. But then he tried to tune up... and dropped his guitar... the strap coming off... Next, they started the last number, and the mic stand was grabbed for involed and passionate effect... it broke, dropping the mic itself to a height appropriate for a small child. Then he somehow managed to pull the lead out of his guitar during a bit of over-zealous jumping around! Despite all this, he managed to plug it back in so well, when he walked off stage he nearly dragged several amps and effects boxes off with him... (yes he forgot to unplug it again... LOL!) Nevertheless, the songs were good and the set was impressive it was a very enjoyable performance, partly for the right reasons and partly for all the wrong ones!  All in all, a great "late weekend".

Right, I have to go... I think my post is going astray and I really need to find out where...
