Best of August...

Another "Best of" list which may or may not prove more entertaining than the previous entry >_<. Thats 8 now! Two thirds of a year spent doing this... I have no idea how long I'll continue it for, could be only this year, maybe longer... Who freakin knows... After a crappy start to this month, things have gotten back to the high standard of July and infact beond that. Long may I continue to feel that way! Uni is fast approaching and this will be the last list before I go...

10 - Crapness: Ok, not too much to complain about but still, it all happened at once so annoyed me. Firstly, I failed my driving test which sucked big time. Secondly, I had to say good bye to
samegrazedknees for a week while she went on holiday and to top everything my cheque for my new camera wasnt going to go through for a week... Shocking on the bank's part... However, the day the cheque went through was the day of the return of hazz! WOO! so it was, in the end a double celebration.

9 - Working at Wednesday: It hasnt been great but it hasnt been bad (and lets face it, if you get paid around £88 for working one day out of 4 and doing very little for the other 3... meh... cant say I find that a problem...). The money is financing a holiday so thats better for me and also any reserves can go towards a new camera lens and paying back my parents for the latest camera...

8 - Dog-sitting: Despite a busy, touristy Eyam and yet not having much to do, this was surprisingly fun. There were infact 2 separate weeks I'd done this and again, the money goes towards a holiday/camera stuff. I'd definately do it again, no problems. Also, it allowed me to take lots and lots of photos of various subjects and provided a perfect base for walking on the moors so no quibbles there.

7 - Films: Due to lack of stuff to do in Eyam (:P) I was "forced" to watch a great many more films than I would have usually done. These included many I've been meaning to see for ages and some I missed at the cinema and really wanted to see. These were: Face/off: 9/10, Silence of the Lambs: 8/10, Blade 2: 7/10, This is Spinal Tap: 8/10, Terminator 2: 8/10, Terminator 3: 7/10, Pulp Fiction: 7/10, Forest Gump: 8/10, Resident Evil: Apocolypse: 9/10 (I know, I know - but I really enjoyed it :P), Speed: 7/10, Wayne's World: 6/10, Collateral: 6-7/10 (I was actually disappointed with the lack of action though the story was pretty good, depite obvious "twist"), Pitch Black: 5/10 (massively average). I also have a few films still to watch too! But I think I've done pretty well already this month :P (nods).

6 - Bought Camera: New toys I'm afraid... Typical man in that respect :P...

5 - Photo Taking: LOTS of photos done. The moors and Dylan took most of the glory, however, I also found Ladywash Mine and took some time to try to shoot that in B/w. The photos havent been converted yet but

4 - Emma's Party and film Night: Both very enjoyable! Happy Birthday
serenityems!

3 - Corp (x2): Going out, dancing, head-banging, looking like an idiot, drinking, chilling/talking with mates, laying into mate's silly/confusing ex(sorry about that >_<), head-butting Ned and coming off worse (sorry bout that too >_<), meeting old friends, noticing old acquaintances and ignoring them, talking till stupid hours in the morning and then having to get up at 7 to make your driving lesson in time; its all there in the great Sheffield night out!

2 -
mischa_craven's Pre-results Party: Exactly what we all needed I thought. A chance to unwind and not worry about results at all, right before we went to pick them up. I mean at the end of the day the papers had probably been marked for about a month anyway (at the very least a few weeks). So thanks Han, had a great time, and good luck in your new job and going to Uni :).

1 - Results: Better than I could've hoped for and satisfied me immensly! Nothing more to say, I got on my course and even if I should decide its not the right course after all, I have some good grades to fall back on (*touch wood* and *fingers crossed* it never comes to that). And to celebrate: What better way than dinner out (treated to) and an amazing new Maiden album (I treated myself :P).

I would just like to add that The Temple of the King is such a BEAUTIFUL song...

best of the month, life, music
