Hmmm... for some reason I just thought it was August.... :S better stop rushing my life on...
So this might be the final post for a while or possibly not, I cant say. Either way it wont matter cos even consistant, steadfast, reliable posters
totally49 and
wormlover have ceased to post/read, so I shalt return when there is something to read... and I dont mean an essay on geekdom Mr Barnsley :P (just kidding...) there really was a lot on the agenda for this month, loads of goings and happenings and such - its been fun to be so busy! :P However, it has made choosing an order ridiculously difficult...
10 - Gettign Old Job Back: Not much fun really but still, I've got a source of income, which means more spending money! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
9 - Camera/Book Shopping: I'm finally getting that bit of excitement that everyone else (nearly) was feeling when they were looking round unis etc many many months ago... or it could just be that I've been told; told to buy a new camera... not often you get that happening...
8 - Band Watching: Local bands that is. VAN, Flaming Pitchforks and Vigilante Wing to name but three. Infact three were seen at Katie's brithday party, so many happy returns Katie and thanks for the great gig!
7 - Photo Trips: Many and varied! Went out in Sheffield (after Fran's partaay) and took some nice panoramics. Then in Buxton with Hazzy before we went in the museum. Then again of the Olde Worlde barn (14th July) and finally more pans at Sheffield station before Steve's, phew! Btw Steve, those butterflies outside your front door are going in my portfolio... err, not literally of course, in photo form...
6 - Galleries Trips: Been to the Millenium Galleries (damn! I should've gone before whilst doing my art really... :P) and saw a local photographer's (Adam Dunning) exhibition in Buxton Museum. He does "snapshots" - a "shoots-what-he-sees" approach, however, most of his work is landscapes rather than people (the usual subject matter for "snapshot" work) so it was of much more interest to me. Anyway, the work was superb and well worth seeing; it had both comical moments, and sombre seriousness - top display. Also, brought an Iced Earth CD (6/10).
5 - Geoff Simpson Talk: Another local Photographer! Woo! Wildlife and Landscape man Geoff Simpson (a friend of John Beatty's) did a great talk and presentation about photographing wildlife and the techniques and different aspects of it. Was very insightful and afterwards he gave me some useful advice on lenses and cameras etc.
4 - Hazzy's "Last" SYO Concert: Well done SYO people! Great concert, and a good time was had, despite not being able to take photos and the posh woman infront of me complaining about me (Legal Disclaimer: I think she was. I'm pretty sure as I did swear quite loudly as we were going out at the interval... oh dear :S Well, what the heck, if they wont allow me to take photos at
samegrazedknees's last concert... grrr...)
3 - Fran's Party/Steve's Party/Going out: (yes in that order (of chronology)) Woo! Parrrrrrrrrrtayyy! and little more needs to be said really - I also got some good photos of the city afterwards and was inspired to go back and do more! :O Then again parties were enjoyed further at Steve's despite the lack of people :(. But we did get the angel delight we meant to nick from Fran's :P and lots more of it too! Also, enjoyed a night out with with
im_snuffles to celebrate her birthday/return to the country. Spent a long time talking to Abi and Tom and not to you guys so many apologies for that *is embarassed*.
2 - Pirates of the Carribian: Not a great film. It was too much like a kids cartoon for my liking, the whole wheel thing? What the hell? so so random, it was a crazy film which, even disregarding pirates and magical ghost ships, still managed to be the most "unrealistic" film ever... quite possibly... well not really but hey! :P However, that is not why it was in the top ten, oh no, it was the company that mattered :)
1 - Simply Red: Chosen at the top, not really cos it was a good gig (which it was, dont get me wrong), but mainly because its a symbol of everything this month has been about: music, live bands, fun, going out, making trips, taking photos, freedom, memories, and above all spending time with people who matter (thats you lot!).
I'll say one thing, doing these charts has really done the trick in as far as keeping me regularly posting... Last month, if you coun up entries I think I managed more than both the aforementioned constant updaters... wow...
The end is nigh... :P
