Well Chrimble and new year and come and gone, and i am still completely shattered by all the running about. I need a holiday to recover from it all.
Well whats been going on in Glyn World? Not a lot really.
Work wise:
Currently finishing up another online ordering system written in ASP, vbscript and javascript. and just putting the final touches on an FTP upload program written in Delphi which automatically converts Paradox tables to Jet Engine, compacts it, and then uploads to webspace for the ASP site to query. Also have finished a transaction transfer program which creates simultaneous sales and purchase orders to transfer stock between companies based on reorder levels also in Delphi.
That may all sound a bit technical for a few of you, but i've always enjoyed programming, and it's better than stacking shelves for a living, no work uniform, and all the coffee i can drink.
Home wise:
Spent most of my time after christmas playing Resident Evil 4 on the ps2 hmmmmm.. love it, Yes I Know the're not zombies, but the game sure makes you panic and jump. The game has incredible graphics that i really didn't think the ps2 was up to.
The only downfall of the game is the typical resident evil puzzles which In this game have been really pathetic. Previous games i've had to get out a notepad and work out the puzzles, this game is 'find key' then 'use key' and 'see statue move' then 'move statue back' really simple. I used to like the balance of mindless killing and puzzles, and now the mindless killing has peaked and the puzzles have fallen to the wayside. Nevermind, I still love it.
Ems has been playing TonyHawk American wasteland which is very cool, but quickly got very very difficult. I can imagine that people that haven't played the other tonyhawk games would get really frustrated with this very quickly.
Music wise:
Well the band split up at end of last year, and i pretty much wanted a little break from it all anyway. Now i'm getting all itchy feet again and can't wait to start singing again.
Ross has been recording some stuff, and i wouldn't mind helping out with ideas or vocals at some point. Have to make an evening of it at some point get together and make some industrial type heavy but beepy type stuff. ;)
Phil, i don't know i texted him newyear to say hello, but have had no reply.
Graham has now got a new band line up, and has asked me to sing. Which is nice but i really want to do my own songs under the moniker Maidavalepain. If they all want to do that, then i might jump onboard, otherwise i'd rather continue to do my own thing for a while.
I may be a bit egotistical about the whole MVP thing, but it is my project, that I want to do, and if they all want to be part of that (rather than me just being a singer for their thing) then i'll probably give it a go. I enjoy doing the music thing my way, if i can't do it my way, i'd rather not do it. That sounds really selfish and bad, but I've been with lots of bands where i had none or little say in the direction or sound and it wasn't as much fun.
You never know Maidavalepain may be back quite a bit sooner than i thought, unless they all tell me to f#ck off that is!
Anyhows... Hope everyone else had a goodun, see you all soon.
