Why now?

Sometimes I have the worst of luck. I was on my way to an interview with yet another placement agency when the Sebring broke on me. I 'm in the parking lot, having JUST went over a gorram speed bump at 5mph (whooo you speed queen you), turning a corner to get into a parking spot right in front of the agency when the ball joint quits. *sigh* So I run into the office real quick, end up asking the guy if it's ok if I'll be a few mins while I call a tow truck. Find out that it'll take an HOUR for a tow truck that the insurance agency works with to bloody well show up.

Good News? A tow truck driver shows up RIGHT after I get that call asking if I need a tow. Bad News? I have to pay out of pocket, then send the bill to my ins company to get reimbursed. At least he offered to keep the cost down a bit by towing it to a shop just down the street from where we were at.

Once at the shop, we get to see how much damage the car's taken. One ball joint, the driver's side axle, one control arm that HAS to be replaced and two others that really should be taken care of before I hit YET ANOTHER bump. Total? $1300, altogether. Parts alone? $750. I really don't like driving chryslers sometimes. Usually when I have to fin out how much it'll cost to fix it. Thanks to some VERY understanding friends, we've managed to scrape together enough to pay the repair bill. Let's see how she runs tomorrow when we get her back.
