6th generation iPod nano.

If you haven't already, check out Apple's 6th generation iPod nano.

But if you don't want to click on that Apple site link, basically, the iPod nano has been redesigned into a 240x240 clip on unit with a touch screen.
Thinking it was a new version of the iPod shuffle, my initial reaction was 'Cool!"

However, as a new nano .... just no.

I love my 4th gen iPod nano - it's a perfect size, not too fat and chunky like the classic ipod, won't suck up battery for phone calls like the iPhone ... has an actual music menu unlike the iPod shuffle ... basically, I fall perfectly into the nano segment.
And I adore the shake-to-shuffle function!

I cried out in longing once the 5th generation iPod nano came out - it improved my favourite mp3 device with the function I wanted to most : FM RADIO (also video camera & voice recording, but we don't care about that). And swear, there were so many instances where I almost bought it; I almost kept a friend's birthday present.
Point being, if I wasn't being rational about it, I totally would have upgraded my beloved 4th gen for a 5th gen nano.

The 6th generation iPod nano however ... :/ I wouldn't be too thrilled about 'upgrading'. It'd be more of a downgrade ... if it provides all the same functions as its predecessors, fine.
But overall, it's discomforting to the 4th gen nano lover. The touch screen is a bit of overkill for a nano. And it's too small.
It's just an upgraded shuffle to me.
It should have been marketed as the shuffle - but then perhaps the marketing team decided that the touch screen was too much of a step up for the shuffle segment.
Idck. That is not a nano.
