Maia sat on the couch of the living room of her hotel.
She had stopped by the apartment after lunch with Lindsay. She almost walked into the bedroom but couldn't do it, she decided if she needed anymore clothes she would buy them or something because going into their bedroom, seeing their bed was just to much for her. She left a note on the table saying where she was staying and what room number. She didn't sign it, didn't write I'm sorry or I love you. Give her time, give her space. Maia had swallowed hard, grabbed Lemon, her stuffed dog off the couch where she had left him the day before and headed out of the apartment.
Lemon sat next to her on the couch at the hotel, in front of her on the coffee table she had a dozen pink roses, the same kind she had bought the day before. She stared at them, "Pink's her favorite color." She said quietly. "I wanted to get her a room full of roses when she got the job, I wanted to surprise her but they didn't have enough at the shop." She swallowed hard. "She even has pink sheets." Maia chocked the words out, her fingers reaching for the little yellow dog. She leaned back on the couch, her t.v. was on but she wasn't paying attention to it, her eyes were fixed on the pink roses.
