Hotel room 814:Thursday Morning: Early

Maia cried out in her sleep, her eyes snapped open as she looked around the room panting. "Rose." She said as she felt around in the darkness and Rose wasn't there. "ROSE?" Maia panicked and sat up on the couch, it took her a moment to realize where she was. She wasn't at home, she wasn't safe in bed with Rose, she was at the hotel, on the couch,

Paige woke up suddenly, aware there was something wrong with someone. She sat up for a moment and heard Maia calling in her head.

She kissed Fred on the forehead pulled on her dressing gown and quickly orbed to where she could sense the pain.

"Mai?" she said quietly appearing before her, "Mai? What's wrong honey?"

Maia turned her head, Paige was there, Paige was always there when Maia needed her the most. "Paige!" Maia said grabbing onto her as though for dear life. "Rose...I messed up...over..." She said sobbing while she hugged Paige's waist.

Paige hugged her tightly gently stroking her hair, "Ivanova?" she asked softly, since she'd messed up over Geoff herself it was the first thing she thought of. "Tell me what happened and we'll see if we can fix all this okay?"

Maia nodded against Paige. "I don't know why I did it. I don't...I just I did it and then I had a dream about what would happen if I kept on doing it and I didn't want it. I want Rose, I want just her and I messed everything up and I can't- She's hurting so much." Maia said sobbing harder. "I hurt her I never wanted to hurt her."

Paige winced and moved them both over to the couch to sit down, "do you still love Susan?" she asked before taking a deep breath, "because that's why I did it," she continued so Maia would know she wasn't the only stupid one in this room.

"And I know you didn't want to hurt her, you'd never hurt anyone on purpose, I'm sure Rose knows that."

"I-" Maia seemed to be weighing everything over in her mind before she answered. "I wanted so long for Susan to come back, so long before I really let myself care about anyone again that...when I saw her. Everything, everything I had wanted all this time just rushed back to me." Maia said her tears quieting, "Everything I thought I wanted and knew but what I want now, it's different it's Rose. I think I love Susan for what we were but...I love Rose for what we are..." Maia wasn't sure if that made sense.

Paige nodded slowly, "I know what you mean, when I saw Josh it was like that too, and then finding he was actually Geoff it was..." she trailed off she had to stop thinking about all that.

"You're in love with the memories right?" she asked, "with the past, only Rose is your future and you love her because of that," she suggested, it was how she felt about Fred.

Maia nodded, Paige understood. She nodded again through her tears. "And I've hurt her. I hurt her so badly Paige, the look on her face." Maia tried to shut her eyes against it but all she saw was that look; when Rose realized Maia wasn't teasing about kissing someone else.

"What if she doesn't love me anymore?" Maia whispered, her heart broken at the thought.

Paige wasn't really sure what to say to that, she hadn't told Fred about the kiss for fear of losing him, plus it wasn't even the real Geoff, just someone with his memories.

"I'm sure she won't have stopped just because you messed up once, not if you're sure if won't happen again, we all make mistakes Mai, I'm sure she knows that."

Maia nodded and swallowed hard. She adored Paige, her words calmed her greatly. "She said that she loved me. When I said last night that I loved her, she said she loved me to. That's...that's a sign yeah?" Maia whispered swallowing harder.

"Of course it is, if she loves you I'm sure it'll be fine, it was just one kiss right? It's not it's some long drawn out affair or anything? And it's made you realise how you feel about her so you knoiw it won't happen again." she said softly still holding onto her best friend.

Maia nodded against her. "Yeah it did and I won't, not ever." She said with a wavering sob of despair. "What if she doesn't forgive me? Even if I never do this to her again?"

"Mai, I'm sure that won't happen okay, just try to be positive yeah? Maybe give her a little time to think about stuff." she suggested.

Maia nodded swallowing hard. "Yeah." Maia sniffled a little. "If- if you see her will you, will you tell her if she needs anything to let me know. I know I told her that last night but...I want her to know that I mean it."

"Yeah of course I will don't worry about that, so do you want me to stay for a while? Fred was pretty fast asleep when I left."

Maia nodded "Will you...can you hold me until I fall asleep. I didn't sleep very well last night..." She said quietly feeling shameful for such a request but Paige was her best friend and they had held each other through the night on more then one heartbreak.
