Back from Seattle:Saturday Afternoon

Maia had stayed longer in Seattle then she had planned but all in all it had been a good trip. She walked into the flat and smiled, Rose had magazines scattered all around and by the looks of it the Doctor was still there. "Rose?" Maia called out as she leaned over to stack Rose's magazines into a pile on the edge of the coffee table. A white box

Rose was in the kitchen, laughing at something the Doctor had said while the two of them were making something to eat. "In here, baby," she called out to Maia, still laughing.

Maia left the box for a moment before entering the kitchen. She threw a smile at the Doctor before embracing Rose and kissing her. "God I missed you." She said kissing her again. "It was a nice trip though."

"Yeah?" Rose grinned as she kissed Maia. "Good. Glad it was a good trip. We," she said, looking over at the Doctor with a grin, "have been trying not to kill each other with food." That elicited a laugh from the Doctor (although one could swear it was a sort of manic giggle), and a hearty giggle from Rose herself.

"Well my love it's nice to see The Doctor still standing after run in's with your cooking." She winked, "And Rose thinks I can't cook..."

The Doctor snorted and avoided Rose's gaze.

Smacking him, Rose turned to Maia. "Oi! You're not one to talk, princess," she said, playfully chastising her.

"Oh, I dunno about that," the Doctor said. "You did make toast that one time and no one died." He winked at Rose.

Rose hmmphed and looked at the both of them. "If this is gonna turn into make fun of Rose day, then I'm gonna--" She stopped as a little bundle of fur ran smack into her legs. "What's this then? Mai? When did we get a puppy?" She bent down and picked him up, and the little thing started licking her face, which caused Rose to laugh.

"Oh you escaped, naughty little girl, just like your mommy." She said hugging Rose. "This is your big present from Seattle." She said grinning. "Do you like it?"

Still laughing, Rose held the pup at arm's length. "She? Well, she's cute. And furry. Does she have a name?"

"I thought Gertrude was pretty." Maia said grinning, very serious about thinking it was a nice name.

Rose caught the Doctor laughing out of the corner of her eye. "Shush, you. It could be a pretty name if it didn't remind me of my drunk neighbour." Looking the dog in the eye, she thought about it for a moment. "How d'you feel about Trixie, then?" A small bark made Rose smile. "Right. Trixie it is."

"Trixie." Maia tested it out looking at her and then nodded. "Good thing I already put that on her tag huh?" Maia said with a wink before walking over to the counter where Rose had different kinds of fruit laid out on the cutting board. She grabbed an apple slice and leaned against the sink. "So what have you too been doing besides daily ER trips for Rose's cooking."

"Now, now, Maia. You know how sensitive our dear Rose can be," he said with a wink. "Little bit of this, little bit of that, really just staying out of galactic trouble for once. Watched a few movies, fascinating things, 'specially the ones that try to predict the future. Never get it right, never."

Rolling her eyes, Rose stuck her tongue out at the Doctor. "You think that just because you're this fantastical time traveller, you got all the answers." Biting her lip, she added, "Doesn't often help that you do," softly.

Maia laughed at Rose's words, she was impressed with the Doctors knowledge and the fact he could travel all around the way he did. "Doctor..." Maia said after a hesitation. "I would love to go in your TARDIS sometime."

Eyeing Maia, the Doctor nodded. "I'm sure we could arrange that sometime. Show you where I've been hiding Rose away from time to time," he said with a grin.

"Oh, Maia, you'll love it. It's bigger on the inside than on the outside, and it's got all this stuff, and you really just have to see it to know what I'm on about," Rose said, possibly bouncing a wee bit.

Maia smiled at him. "Can you really take it anywhere? Back in time even?" She said sipping on some water now. Innocence in her voice, she grinned at Rose's excitment. "I would love to see it." She said to her girlfriend breathlessly.

Rose bit her lip. She had a feeling where Maia was going with this, and they'd already had this discussion. Hoping that Maia would remember what they talked about, she squatted down and busied herself with the dog.

"Anywhere in time, and space. S'what makes her so fascinating," he said, smiling at Maia.

"I like that." Maia said with a smile retreating a little when she saw Rose bite her lip. "Sounds like a fun trip we can all take sometime." She said before grabbing another apple slice. "Will you be in town long Doctor?"
