Midna is coming along well. I'm going to put black on the arms of my bodysuit tonight, which will complete the main part of the costume. Gloves also need to be sewn and painted, but all in good time. Which means that the most intimidating piece is all that's really left to do. The helm.... *shudder* when planning this I also kinda forgot that I have the hair, hairpiece, and ears to make as well as the helm itself. I am stressed.
Along with the realization that the costume is not going to be nearly as complete as I want it to, no masquerade for me this year. I'm going to save it for AN 08, when I'm happy with the result. Nonetheless, it should still look pretty cool for fan expo.... *crosses fingers*
On my way out to Kingston yesterday, I noticed, for the first time, a dance school in my neighbourhood. Advertising adult classes. I was reminded just how much I miss ballet, and realized that I might actually be in a financially stable enough situation to take a class this year. Then after watching CATS, I knew that not only am I going to have my Jemima costume finished for next year, but I am going to take ballet lessons again. I checked out the place after Future tonight, and it looks perfect, and within my budget. I think I'll go register tomorrow.
And speaking of CATS,
kusanivy did an awesome job with the costume and makeup design and execution on the show. I was absolutely floored by the whole production. It was totally worth the drive out there and back. Not to mention getting to hangout with her and meeting
hasfartogo. I could go on and on about it, but I think "amazing" and "better than the tour production I saw" just about sums it up.
