Dear Lord, this awful smell.
It is 4 in the morning and I'm sitting here waiting patiently for Oren to get home from the store with peroxide, gloves, and baking soda. I'm dying from this horrible smell and praying that the kids don't wake up from it. Macey woke me up this morning and I let her out thinking she needed to go pee. I was wrong. She ran out, barked and little and then came in the house smelling like hell. She got sprayed by a skunk. I quickly got her out of the house but it was too late. The house reeks.

Oren went outside to get Macey and the skunk was still out there and began to rush him get ready to spray him. It was so funny because it puffed up and just stared at him as if to say, "You want some of this?" We tried throwing a can of Campbells Pototo soup at it (it was the only thing I was willing to risk for the cause) but that didn't work. And old plastic ashtray. Nope. It finally left on it's own accord after 5 minutes of staring us down.
Oren washed Macey with this homemade mixture. Oh and vinegar as well. I was going to try tomato sauce but thank goodness for the internet. Apparently nothing works but this mixture. Macey is smelling a tad bit better but I have to take her to the groomers later today to get here a proper de-skunking. I shouldn't even have her in the house but I kinda feel sad for her.
I've mopped the floors twice with 2 different solutions and Oren made coffee. I am desperate to get the smell out but nothing is working. I have the fans going and all the windows and doors open. My head hurts so bad from this smell. I've never been this close to skunk smell and it is way different than what you smell from your car when you are driving by the park. Oren has left to work and I'm stuck here waiting for the kids to get up. This sucks. Oh, and Avery dropped my Blackberry in the tub last night. Good times.
