Long Goodbye
Gunnar's mother is now a full-time resident at the nursing home. Her mental capacity is greatly diminished, to the point she doesn't even recognize her own children sometimes. She can not walk without assistance, nor eat. It is so sad.
When I first came to Norway, she went to the home for a week out of every 3. Then it was to every-other week. In the past 3 months she went from a week home, to 3 weeks in the hospital, to weekends home, to every-other weekend. Now, her home is where there is staff on hand to take care of her. She is only 61. Damn Parkinsons.
