So my recently acquired bargain set of HYD manga (in Japanese, regular format) have now become a sort of manga restoration project. After reading this
blog post and a few others, I put together the following supplies:
Plastic boxes with lids
Fragrance free dryer sheets
Clear seal-able plastic bags
Baking Soda
Paper Cups
Black trash bag
This evening I slipped the dryer sheets inside between the manga pages and around them, sealed them up three in a bag, then placed my bagged manga (with dryer sheets inside) in my plastic boxes with lids. I added paper cups filled with baking soda in the boxes for added deodorizing and then closed the boxes up. I additionally covered the boxes with a black trash bag to further seal them up.
The experiment has begun. *crosses fingers* I really hope this saves them from the smoke smell!
While I was prepping the books, I couldn't help but read them a little. :D *will be waiting a week before checking on them*
I wish they hadn't been all smoky but I guess the bright side is that I'm learning about book restoration when it comes to tobacco smoke smells. ;)
Here's another Goo Jun Pyo photo before bed time ♥
We are going to be waiting *hopefully patiently* to see the results of our restoration project efforts. ^^
