This week was insane, I'm apparently starting the new job (without warning) on Monday, and The Boy will be gone as of Tuesday, but I'll give you a little peek at why I'm happy anyways.
"Laura will like this one," I said, "You look domestic."
"I look like I know how to use a faucet."
"It's domestic."
Here's an exchange which occurred while we were at coworker Paul and his lovely wife Amelia's place last night listening to a Certifiably Obscure band of which the Boy was thrilled to find Paul a fan.
Me: How is it you know so much about really random, really obscure bands and films?
Him: I didn't have a girlfriend for 7 years! I had to do something.
Me: Yeah, but I didn't date anyone for years and years and I didn't...Oh.
Him: What?
Me: I have like 800 books.
We then went on to visit with Alex and Marley at
The Auld Shebeen. Fun place and it was awesome to see Alex and Mar again. Marley flashed her ring, I oohed and aahed, and we talked venues and cakes. No comment on The Boy's enjoyment of all of this, but there were televisions galore with all sorts of scores to look at, and he seemed well engrossed.
Tonight we have
Chelsea Lee's concert. The Boy has met my mom, but not my pop, so that should be fun. The music will be awesome, at any rate.
