I saw Night at the Museum tonight with the fam, after which we ate out, as both Casey and I leave tomorrow. He's going back to Colorado where he will most likely be covered in snow, whist I am off to London to be surrounded in mist. But that's cool. I like mist. Anyway, the movie. I liked it. I really, really did. It was fun, and light, and good-hearted and I was able to suspend my disbelief about the actual museum (which was difficult) and enjoy. I took a class entirely about museums this past semester, so I do kinda know some stuff. Kinda. I'm hoping that other people will leave wanting to go see their local museums again, like I did. I think it does a good job of reminding us that no matter how old and dead the stuff in museums is, it was once alive or represents a time which was as real as our own. That's important, and often gets lost.
Right, well, off to London tomorrow. I'm mostly packed, but I don't have to be at the airport til 4:30 tomorrow. So we'll leave around 4 to be safe, as we live next to the airport access road. I think I'm going to go finish up Torchwood so that if I'm able to catch any while I'm over there I'll be up to speed.
I'll update here if I can, but I haven't tried it on the Blackberry yet so nothing certain. I'll be sending e-mails to those who can't fight back (i.e., my best friends and my mom), but if anyone else wants to hear about my time in London, feel free to leave your e-mail address in a comment here or, if you're not comfortable with that, sending me an
e-mail.
If I can't update, then I will see you in a few weeks. Slainte.
