so last night we were all coming back from dinner
spelled that wrong
and the entire mountain road had turned to totally sheer ice
like, ice rink type ice
hm
and terry's car (that was in front of grandpa's)
couldn't make it up that hill that is right next to the lifts
so we watched them slowly slide down back towards us
the final one?
and they eventually got into someone's driveway and then walked to that bridge (the one you go under at the bottom of sachem) and got into our car
grandpa's lexus
we were thinkingt hat the added weight would help boost the friction rate
so we get up to right above where my car got stuck that one time
and the car stops going forward and starts to slide backwards with everyone in it
and we're all terrified
haha
and somehow grandpa gets the back into a snowbank
and the car stops
at that point we all get out (but grandpa)
to try to lodge ourselves intot he snowbank so we could push thecar ou
t
(otherwise it was too slippery for us to have any traction to stand, let alone push)
so the car gets going and we all start to try to chase after it
and sean is in the front and shoves the car a little more, then begins to realize that he is standing on the ice, losesh is footing, falls and starts to slide down the road like it was a water slide

and then, somehow, wei launches out and grabs him and shoves him back to the snow bank
but now she's sliding down fast
and i have to reach out and grab her coat to pull her back to the side of the road
oh my god
so then we're all trying to catch up to the again
this sounds totally rediculous
which is now stuck again and lodged intot he snow
but whenever we have to cross a driveway it's sheer ice and there isn't any snowbank to walk on
and terry and russell are basically crawling to try not to fall
and sean catches up again, but the front of the car is totally stuck
(btw, it is 11:45 pm and it's raining)
so we all get to the car and manage to push it out of the snow
(of course, we're all a little scared we are going to get run over by the car too).
and we eventually get the car to that flat circle before the final push up to the house
and we realize w just need to park the car and walk up all together
how long did that take?
all together, probably 45 mintues
so THEN
we're trying to get grandpa out of the car and get him over to the snow which is about 15 feet of sheer ice away
(oh, and btw, he and wei had already totally wiped out in the parking lot of hte restaurant)
so we get grandpa to the snow and we realize that the lights are still on in the car
haha
so wei (in her moon boots) goes back to the car to turnt he lights off and then slide back to us
Then we had to climb with grandpa up the side of the hill
and he kept almost slipping
and we almost fell
and I'M in HEELED BOOTS
and we keep walking into the branches that are on the side of the road
sounds like you could've used help from the likes of bear gryllz
and we FINALLY get everyone up to the house sopping wet, after midnight, pretty much resigned to NEVER go out to eat again while it's raining in vt
I'm just glad we managed to get up as far as we did in grandpa's house
because it would have taken HOURS if we had to start at the bridge by foot
