I just finished reading Christine by Stephen King- you know, the one where it's about the killer car? Yeah. Right.
Let's just say that the movie doesn't even hold a candle to the book. This is not a story about a killer car, it's a story about a ghost and how that ghost possesses a kid. It is hard to say if the car is evil or not, but I think it is more fitting to say that the owner was evil enough that his obsession worked to possess the car as well. As a ghost story it works really well, towards the middle of the book the ghost plot could as easily have fallen into a more psychological thriller territory and have become a book about a kid who goes crazy over his jealousy towards a friend. This idea works really well, at least for the first half of the book, because this part is told entirely in first person from Dennis' point of view.
