Let's discuss how long it's been since I last updated this shit. Or let's not, on account of I'm not sure anyone (including mahsehlf) knows when that was...
So it's tradition on the fencing team to embarass a person on their birthday. Usually, it takes the form of coach yelling at said person in the middle of practice and making them feel really crappy and confused before everyone joins in with a lovely rendition of that fucking birthday song. Oh, except Emma. On her birthday coach got Dana (another fencer) to pretend to fall down in agony after Emma hit him particularly hard...she thought she has sliced through his trachea, and her face was priceless. good times. BUT, basically this means that your birthday has to fall during the season in order to be concerned about this happening to you. I found out the other day that coach was planning something for my birthday to be put into action on Sunday when we all came back. Only it's actually not that funny. BASICALLY, he wanted someone to call me (likely Emma) and tell me that our friend Dana (who has a history of minor heart problems) was in the hospital for severe chest pain, and that we should go visit him. THEN, oh, and here's the real kicker, the whole TEAM would be waiting in the parking lot to sing that horrid song to me! Oh, smashing, smashing joke, puppy. So while I'm in the car, either hysterical because I think my friend is dying, or confused as to why I'm visiting someone who'll be out of the hospital in a couple of hours with a little chest pain (my emotion would depend on how convincing Emma was at describing his condition) coach would have been anticipating a real laugh. Yeah, I thought it was funny too. Ha. Ha.
I have to use the restroom.
Later kids.
