Peter's Surgery
Just a quick note for those not on the A-list. Berend's surgery went well, but much more extensive than expected (3+ hours under the knife). The tumor had reached up under his eyelid; all of his eyelid had to be removed to get at it all. Muscle, skin and tissue had to be transplanted from the other eye, so he's looking pretty rough. It's rather gory, Piglet described him as "looking like Frankenstein, but without the cool neck bolts.". Huh.
On the up side, no more cancer! 6-8 weeks, he'll get more construction to the eye (it's sewn and cauterized shut to help heal it). After that, he's done. Hopefully this will be his only brush with cancer...
Oh, and I'm having fun walking him about- the possibilities for mischief are endless!
