Updating after a bit of time

So it's been a couple of days, but a lot of interesting things have not been happening in such magnitude that I would comment. So, here I will on the past couple of weeks and other things.

Prom last night was fucking awesome, even if my date did come at like 9:45. Not that wanted to come late, but she had to because of a tennis tournament that she was playing in and pretty much dominated until she had to leave. It was a fantastic night, and I couldn't have spent the time better with any other people, so thanks everyone for such a fantastic night!

My band's playing its last show with our drummer this Friday and haven't practiced at all for it. Not a big deal, tho, we basically winged our last one, so we can do it this time too (insert grinning smiley here). Do come, though, it should be a pretty good show. Tix are around $5, the show's at the high school, and I needn't give you more info than that if you just look at earlier entries of mine. Except that we're wearing suits and sunglasses (can somebody say pimptastic? ok, don't it's okay...). I figured in the songs that I've begun writing that we're probably not going to stick to a particular style and just play as much in differentiation as we can. It's hard to cultivate your own sound sometimes, especially when you draw influence from so many other artists, but it's really a cool thing to do, to be in a band and have that potential to make a collaborative sound.

Needless to say, I've got some more fucking heavy HW this week, between a huge-ass Biology test Tuesday and some other miniscule things in my other classes that pile up into something bigger. So it's less than before, but still a bit. I hope I did well on all the other things I had in the last couple of weeks, I'd like to leave this year in flying colors.

Overall, I have to say it's been a pretty good year. Sure, there were some incredible lows (i.e. Student Government, etc.), but they got balanced out with some pretty big highs, like forming a new band and strengthening old relationships, as well as forming some new ones. Overally, I can say it was pretty good, and definitley much better than last year.

Recently, I bought the new cd from The Starting Line and got an internet pre-release of the new Finch cd (the latter courtesy of Ryan Seong, thank you sir). Both are fantastic, I'd recommend them to everyone, as they may rekindle your love for Drivethru Bands (if it was lost). A new At The Drive-In anthology came out recently, tell me anyone if you have it so I can somehow get it from you.

That sound like about it for now, I'm out like President Bush in a BBC interview (that, of course, saying that British network journalists aren't as big pussies as American ones, it works shut up)
