Mao towelled her hair after taking a shower. She is getting ready for bed. Her mini mouse pyjama pants is brushing the floor as she walks since it’s too loose and big for her. She grabs a manga which she bought the day before and sat on the couch as she brushes her hair to dry. She wanted to dry her hair naturally for once since her hair has already lost it’s silkyness from all the hair dryers, straighteners and chemicals used to fit her hair with her every character.
The manga is good but she needs to have her beauty sleep now or else she won’t have enough sleep for her appointment early the following morning. She placed the manga on the coffee table and stood up heading towards her bedroom. She pulled the covers and slips in. Then she reach for her phone to check if there is no message from Jun.
It is strange that he didn’t call tonight. Maybe he is busy hanging out with his friends. Mao thought. She put her phone back on the bedside cabinet and was about to switch the light off when her phone rings. She quickly grabs her phone and looks at the caller ID. It’s Jun.
“Moshi, moshi Ouji. I thought you forgotten to call me.” Mao sounds excited though she is already sleepy.
“Open the door, I’m outside your apartment.” Jun asked or more like ordered Mao . Mao jolted up upon hearing him.
“Nandi? What are you doing here?” Mao almost shouted on the phone.
“Would you be kind enough to let me in first .”
“Why don’t you use your key?” Mao being stubborn refused to get out of bed anymore.
“I left in a hurry so I left the key. Now can you let me in before I get a cold? It’s chilly out here.” Jun sounded like he is freezing. Upon hearing his crooked voice, Mao rushed out of her bedroom in no time and opens the door for him with a big smile. Without a moment to spare, he swoops her up into his arms and gives her a kiss.
“Konbanwa.” He whispered to her ear which tickled her. She giggled. “I brought something for us to eat while watching Shokudai-kun.” He slowly lowered her down and showed her the bag he carried.
“I am about to sleep when you rang. “ Mao said while taking the bag and walks to the kitchen.
“You are not going to watch ANS? You are the guest and you don’t watch. How much less you watch if you are not the guest. You don’t watch any of our shows, do you?” Jun rambles while following her.
“ You do know I do watch sometimes but tomorrow i have early start remember?” Mao gave him a quick glance to remind him of her schedule.
He hugs her from behind her, wrapping her with his strong masculine arms. He buried his face, inhaling the sweet fragrance of her hair as his hand runs up and down her arms, feeling her soft, silky skin. He made her turn to face him. He cups her face and leans forward about to give her a hungering kiss when they heard noises and knock on the door.
They look at each other. Mao told Jun she wasn’t expecting anybody so Jun slowly walks towards the door. Carefully , he leans his ear against the door to hear what the noises are all about.
“EHHHH?” Jun suddenly opens the door and came the Arashi piled up on top of each other since they were all leaning against the door when Jun abruptly opened it.
“WHAT ARE YOU ALL DOING HERE?” Jun almost shouted but tried to keep his voice down so as not to disturb the neighbours.
“Oh Jun, you’re here.” Aiba was first to get up and walks inside.
“Where will I be, you baka?” Jun hits Aiba’s head as he pass by him. He is then followed by Sho, Ohno and lastly Nino, who’s body aches because of the weight of his 3 friends toppled on top of him. They ignored Jun’s presence and called out to Mao.
“Mao-chan, konbanwa” Arashi chorused waving their hands to Mao as they walk into the living room.
“Mao-chan, we brought some food to munch on while watching our episode tonight with you as guest.” Ohno handed a bag full of snacks.
“Hug-chan!! Aiba called out and opens his arms to welcome Hug who is running to his direction. But the dog passed him and went to hide behind Jun who just closed the door. Aiba’s face look disappointed. Sho and Nino laugh. Ohno straight away spaced out into his own little world after sitting in the couch.
“Ne Mao-chan, you look good in your pjs.” Sho commented while wearing that evil smirk. He promised to get back on Mao for being harsh with his during the VIP room and this was his chance. She looks at herself and realized she is in her baggy pjs. She ran to her bedroom and changed leaving Jun with red ears from annoyance and disturbance his friends are doing.
“What are you doing here this time of the night? Can’t you hang out somewhere else?” Jun confronts his friends the usual DoS way. Only now, it will not have any effect to Arashi because they know Jun too well especially when he is with Mao.
“We thought it will be great to watch the ANS together with Mao-chan since she is the guest, ne? So here we are” Nino explained.
What an irony. That was exactly what Jun was thinking only he wanted to spend it only with his Mao. Now, his whole gang did not only invade their privacy but will ruin a peaceful watching of the episode and the rest of the night.
Jun scratches his head as he watches his friends helping themselves with the tv remote and raided Mao’s fridge like if it is their own. Jun is starting to feel sorry for introducing Mao to his friends and letting Mao get too close to them. He is spoiling them.
What can he do now? A romantic, private night with Mao will not surely happen when these four are around. He massages his hair as he continues to think. Suddenly an idea crept into his head.
He sneaked out of the living room and into Mao’s bedroom. He closes the door and went over to Mao who just finished putting clothes on.
“Mao, let’s go.” Jun grabs Mao’s hand and a jacket and heads to the emergency exit ladder by Mao’s window. He opens the window wide and offered his hand to assist Mao. Mao looks at him confused.
“What do you you’re doing?” Mao asked, refusing to take Jun’s hand.
“ I want to spend time with you only and that’s what we will do..... Come on, trust me.” Mao studied Jun’s eyes and eventually took his hand and went out of her window, going down slowly through the ladder. Jun followed and ultimately, they reached the ground. Jun held Mao’s hand and led her in the middle of Tokyo’s street.
“We can’t walk together like this.” Mao stopped and spoke when she realized they both are not wearing any disguise. She is worried that somebody will see and report them.
“Don’t worry, all the people are gone home now, either to sleep or to watch us on tv...” Jun smiled at Mao calmly and offered his arms for her to cling on. “Besides, you always want us to walk like any normal couples do right? This is our opportunity” Mao understood and delightfully took Jun’s hand with hers.
They walk hand in hand, with big smiles on their faces. The moon shines brightly, the stars winks at them. In the street of Tokyo, this two lovebirds enjoy the moment of being together out in the open.
“I wish we can always do like this.” Mao said softly, gently leaning her head on Jun’s shoulder. Jun removes his hand and round his arm around Mao’s shoulders as they continued to walk.
“I’m sure this won’t be our last.” Jun reassured her. They followed the path, taking their time like the world stops just for them. They cherished each moment , every second of their walk together.
They stop at a park, partly lighted by the shining full moon. They sit on the bench, looking out to the distance. Jun gently pulled Mao to a hug closer and tighter to him, giving each other the warmth of love amidst the chill of the night.
“Arigatou gosaimasu.”Jun heard Mao mumbles against his chest. He pulls back, making Mao to sit straight. He lifted her chin, looking at the most satisfying smile in her. He smiled back gently kissed her. They savoured the moment no matter who or where they are, enjoying each other’s breath as they drifted to their world of passion and love.
After the broke the kiss to catch their breath. Mao hugs Jun with all happiness in the world. “Ouji, I will never forget this night. For me, this is surely a walk to remember.” Tears of joy starts dropping down from her eyes as Jun returns the hug.
“Someday, we will be able to do this not only occasionally but everyday of our lives together.”
They carry on indulging in their sweet moment together forgetting the rest of the world including the rest of Arashi wondering where they went.
