Chapter 2
“Tadaima” He called out when he got inside the house. He could heard the small footsteps running towards him.
“Papaaaa!” Hiro came rushing towards him. He opened his arms to receive him and lifted him up.
“Welcome home” He turned his head where the voice came from and saw Satomi leaning her side against the wall with her arms crossed on her chest and her face sad. “You’re late again. We already had our supper.”
“Sorry, busy at work....You know” Jun kissed her forehead. Satomi rolled her eyes. She had been hearing this same excuse a lot lately. Jun looked at Hiro and said,
“How do you like to go for vacation?” Hiro showed a big grin on his face and nodded upon hearing Jun’s words.
“Don’t promise something you can’t keep.” Satomi told Jun before she turned around and walked to the bedroom. Jun had been making promises for but he always have some kind of excuse for not keeping them.
“Satomi, pack the things. We’re going to Korea tomorrow.” Satomi stopped on her tracks and turned to face Jun. Her face brightened up from the news. Jun smiled at her, confirming what he said so she ran and hugged Jun.
“Thank you Jun. I thought you never care.” Satome cried. Jun kissed her forehead and replied. “Of course I do.”
“Papa, are we going to ride the airplane?” Jun nodded. Hiro scream in delight at the excitement for the trip.

Mao is finishing her notes for the day and put it in the file. Working as a doctor in a small island makes her the doctor, secretary, nurse, etc. Though this local hospital is very small compared to the hospital her parents owned, she is happy here, or at least she try to be.
After the bombshell of her going to get married was revealed, she left home. She decided to go to Cheju Island to release her anger. Cheju Island is an island in Korea which is very popular tourist destination and because she knows a bit of Korean from her special language classes in school, so she chose to go there. After a week of being in Cheju(capital of Cheju Island), she met another female doctor(Korean) who was going to a small islet called Chujado to work as a local doctor there. Mao became interested and went with her. She fell in love with the place so she also applied for work there and the rest is history.
She cleared her table and put her things in the bag. She was about to leave the office when her phone rang. She quickly picks up the phone and answered.
“Ahn-YONG haSEHyo!”
“Mao, your cousin here, how are you?” a male voice from the other line spoke.
“Nino, I’m fine. How are you?” Mao replied.
“I am fine.....Listen, I am coming to Korea. Meet me at Cheju airport tomorrow.”
“Nandi? Why?” Mao asked Nino but deep inside she knew her parents sent her cousin to bring her back to Japan.
“Well, to visit you. I have 3 months leave from work so i would like to spend it there. I want to know how you are keeping.” Nino exclaimed. Though it’s a good excuse, they both know where this visit will lead to.
“OK, I will be there tomorrow. But I may be late. I have to make sure first another doctor is on duty tomorrow before I drive off to Cheju.”
“What??? You want me to wait for you?....Can you at least try to be on time?....PLEAAASE” Nino ask Mao.
“Ok Ok Ok. I will try. See you tomorrow then. Jane” Mao ended the call and hanged up the phone. She picked up her bag, walked towards the door, switched everything off and left.

(At the airport)
Jun, Satome and Hiro waited for their luggage to appear in the baggage claim area. They waited for a while since it is peak season for tourists so there are many passengers on the plane. When they finally got all their luggage, they made their way to the exit of the arrival area. Jun asked Satome and Hiro to stay near the exit as he goes to get the cab. The exit door automatically opened and as he is about to step out, a tiny figure bumped into him, very hard that Jun lost his balance. They both landed on the floor, her on top of him.
Realizing their awkward position, the woman jumps off from him without a moment to spare. She offered her hand to him and he took it while trying get up. The woman looked at him apologetically and spoke.
“mianhamnida, mianhamnida!” as she bowed at him repeatedly. Then in English she said “I’m so so sorry. I..I didn’t mean that to happen.” She bowed again and started to run away.
Jun was left speechless from the incident. Not only because of the shock from the fall but because when he saw her, he was mesmerized by her simple yet charming beauty. There is something different in her. And she looks like a Japanese.
“WAIT!” Jun snapped out of his wondering thought and called out to her. But she continued to ran. He followed her and saw her approaching a guy and happily hugged him. He stopped on his track and watched them. What is he doing? Satomi and Hiro are waiting for him. He brushed away all thoughts about her and the incident, turned around and walked out to hail a cab.
