There’s an air of silence among the 5 boys amidst all the loud laughing and talking and deafening music of the club as the Arashi members took a big gulp of their drinks, celebrating the end of the hectic day where they could just sit and drink.
Aiba was first to finish his drink and turned to his mates. “Ahhh, how good it feels to sit and enjoy after days work.”
The others placed the drinks and bob their heads in agreement.
“Now we can talk about girls.” Aiba added, which earned a slap from Nino who was sitting next to him.
“His hentai mind already works. We are not even drunk.”Nino complained.
“'Girls' is good.” Ohno chimes, eyeing a girl in the dance floor.
“See, Riida agrees. We are normal boys after all. I can’t talk about our work when I’m relaxing.” Aiba reasoned.
“It does feel good to have a bit of break. We hardly spent time together so why don’t we talk about each other.” Sho who was silent finally spoke.
They got interrupted by Jun’s giggle, looking at something on his phone. The other guys turn their attention to him. He sensed the gazes of his friends and quickly closed his phone, feigning ignorance to their questioning look.
“C’mon, share it.” Nino urged, while Aiba bravely chastens to grab the phone from Jun.
“Hey!” it was too late. Aiba flips the phone open, revealing a picture of Mao, holding a kitten with the caption “Twin Meow”.
Aiba giggled as he passed the phone to Nino who then passed it to Ohno and Sho.
“Shun sent it to me.” Jun reasoned, his cheeks flustered red, not from the drinks, of course.
“Wahh, Mao-chan looks really good with animals.” Sho complimented.
“Don’t you think only Mao-chan fits well with us?” Nino spoke. Somehow, she's the only one who can relate to us individually and as a group.
“That’s right. I’m her favourite Arashi and we share likes of animals and golf.” Aiba said proudly. “I bet we look good as a couple.” Glancing at Jun for some reaction, preparing for any expected torture.
‘He just doesn’t learn to keep his mouth shut.” Thought Jun, glaring at him.
“Well, she loves to draw and she praised me. I think we look good in our two shot in ANS.” Ohno joins in.
“You too Riida?” Jun raise his voice. He didn’t expect it from the normally quiet Ohno.
“What? ...I like Mao-chan.” Ohno is truthful enough.
“ We share a lot of fears and passion so we understand each other most. And I’ve known her longer than any of you.” Even Sho agreed.
“She’s the only person I was comfortable working with. And my only female game buddy.” Nino finished.
“I wonder who would she choose to be her boyfriend among five of us.” Aiba placed his right fist below his chin. Everyone waited for any of Jun’s reaction but he was too absorbed, looking at the phone which he managed to retrieve earlier.
Aiba patted his back. “Poor guy, it must be hard to watch the girl you like only from afar.”
“Urusai.” Jun barked, pocketing his phone. He looks ahead and sigh. “We are only friends.”
“And you won’t get jealous if she chooses one of the four of us?” Aiba tested.
“Of course not.” It’s more to convince himself because his friends are not oblivious to his obvious actions.
“Hey guys.” All 5 froze when they heard the voice. Ohno was first to turn verify their suspicions. The others followed one by one.Yes, it’s Inoue Mao in the flesh. Each greeted Mao.
“Having a great time?” Mao asked with a brightest smile.
“Yes” 5 chorused.
“What are doing here Mao-chan?” Sho
“I’m on a date.” The guys follows the direction of her eyes and smile and saw Masaki sitting at the corner table, waving at them. They waved back hesitantly.
“I just came to greet you guys. Ja” Mao waves and left.
“Looks like we lost to Okada-kun.” Nino says in defeat. All 4 boys hang their heads in disappointment while Jun keeps his gaze fixed at her as she smiles sweetly at her companion.
