The promise will be irrelevant if this provides us with the information we need. It would make no sense for me to deprive people of freedom when I'm trying to ensure the town's escape.

I'm willing to put up with that risk.

[Either it does away with his conscience until his disease does him in (which would remove him from the post after teaching the entire town what happens to applicants), or he'd be sent back to his world, where he would at least be with Shirou again. Thanks to his condition, there's no way either he or the town won't receive something from this.]
