[Public]
[It hasn't been a good week for Kiritsugu.]
[He hopes -- really hopes, that the appearance of drones signifies people going back to their worlds, but seeing as both of his actual children have been turned into drones, he feels the need to grasp onto something more than mere hope.]
[He failed. He had the chance to extract information from Officer Grady, but he let his undeserved sense of morals get in the way. The peaceful family life he was trying to preserve at that time vanished anyways, only that he wasn't even able to gain some modicum of safety for his kids.]
[The biggest insult Mayfield could have delivered the coup d'grace with currently lies in his new coat, replacing his last firearm. Even after the war, simply touching the grip of the Thompson Contender brings back memories, no, regrets of his past life. Is this a sign that he can't escape it? Will he have no other choice than to turn his mind to steel until his illness claims his life?]
[Kiritsugu remains motionless. Having chosen the public park as a place to reflect in goes completely against his entire philosophy, but really, he's not in an entirely characteristic mood. He would much rather avoid signs of yet another life being forced upon him, such as his fake family. There's no one else left to protect here. Not according to the lifestyle he tried, if didn't quite want, to lead].
[So then, what is he supposed to do?]
