End of the Semester

Sometimes time flies, and sometimes it goes very slowly. I've been in Oxford for exactly 3 months now and it feels like I've been here forever. I vaguely remember what my job was like, but it seems like another lifetime ago, as distant from me as college. I enjoyed my time here, and I learned quite a bit. It was nice to get a perspective on economics apart from the GMU one. I think I did well here. Oxford was not significantly more challenging than my GMU classes. I did a fair bit more work, but I had more time as well. In all honesty though, I'm ready to go back. I'm rather tired of writing essays all the time. I think my writing skill has improved a fair bit. At the very least, I structure my thoughts better before I start. One secret to academic writing is to organize your entire argument before you start. Once you know the points you want to make, you can gather data more efficiently, and you can write more quickly. If you know your next point, writers block isn't such a big deal. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone. I haven't done much Christmas shopping. I'll get on it when I get back I suppose.
