minor changes
I'm sitting on my balcony patio in my new apartment. We moved this weekend, thanks to the amazing help of my brother, my friend Renus, and Al's sister. All five of us moved our entire place, grandma furniture and all, into this third floor paradise, in about 4 hours. Kind of amazing. I have my own bathroom now, not to mention a huge closet, an entire laundry room, and a stellar bay window. We're paying a tiny bit more per month, but I think it's totally worth it. See, my new bike got stolen,... yeah, after my other one got stollen last semester. Awesome. That, along with everything else that was janky about our old place sort of just pushed us to find a new place. We had a meeting with our landlords and they knew they were in the wrong - our back yard fence has been down since Hurricane Ike (Sept.13) and that's what prompted the Hey Come Rob Us campaign. Our next door neighbor got broken in to and we just didn't feel safe anymore. I could have ridden out the year then found someplace new, but wow I'm so happy with my own shower and backyard balcony that overlooks a courtyard complete with bubbling fountain.
Grad school is good. My birthday is almost here, kinda bleh about it this year, i think mainly because I don't get to go shouting and announcing it to everyone in the sub, specifically Liz, cause I can remember how rediculous she thought I was :)
I had a dream last night that Obama was my stepdad. Kinda cool. More of a story for face to face though, so if you're curious I'll tell you later. Other than that, I've been really keeping to myself lately, and enjoying it like that actually. Time for self reflexion and self imporvement is definitely a good thing. I won't be going to France this summer as previously though. Kinda a crappy story that I'll skip over, but yeah, I get to sweat it out here with the rest of the Houstonians. Maybe I'll take a small trip or something...hmm. Anywho, that's all I've got, just thought I'd say hi and yes I'm still alive. Happy February, it's such a happy month. :)
