Home!
Walked in yesterday at 8:00 in the morning.
Mom was making breakfast, Loretta Lynn playing with White Stripes in our old brick kitchen.
The music a definition of my family, it does not make any sense. It can sometimes be a bit too much to handle, other times it is crazy wonderful.
My puppy attacked me, what a nutty dalmatian. My brother says she gets by on her looks.
Picked up my grams at the Tacoma ferry. Familiar drive, the water front, the sound, the R.E.I. north westerners walking there pure breds.
After watching an Upstairs Downstairs (some British show that Michael Smith always talks about) episode with my mom, I went and slept in the guest room. It has the best window in the house. It was nice. It smelled like my dad and art projects. Lots of blankets!
21 friends and relatives coming today! Oh man! I saw baby Jack, Sage's baby. He is fricken adorable. Rob and I made a cocktail and made fun of one another as usual. Rob, whom we always compare to Will Farrell in Old School because he is a 30 yr. old scientist but still thinks he is a college kid, had so much Jack pride. I hate to admit it, but someday I think I will want kids. I got a glimpse of that kind of love watching Sage and Rob with him. Sage, my big sister figure all my life, the cool one, the one who helps me through every minor phase, the one who was a hot popular cheerleader and still took her chubby 11year old cousin carrying a giant stuffed frog to the mall with her latest boyfriend, I can't believe she is now a mom. I am not the baby of the family anymore, but I so love the new one.
I went to the doctor, I have holes in both my ears. One is most likely too big for an in-office procedure, I'll probably have to have surgery. Sucks but what can I do? Oh well, at least I can still hear.
So, other than missing my Ryan and his family, home is good!
I better go I hear guests! Happy Triptaphene! However it's spelled ;)
