Lately I've been doing projects around the house. I converted an old desk into a media cabinet, and am now rewiring the cables in the basement to hide them, make them more functional etc. On the back of that old desk sits a four-port ethernet switch, looking a tad incongruous. Sounds like we're doing similar things My project was to connect my TV to the internet, which involved replacing the patch block in the attic with something that was more maintainable, mounting it all so it wasn't a stack of boxes on a dresser, and then getting the connections to work again (which I did thanks to a special instrument that Gordon just happened to have in his car on NYE at your house!)
Since it's sort of hidden in the walk in closet, it doesn't have to be pretty - and isn't.

And, I just managed to watch some content on that TVvia the internet, after buying the special cable to interface HDMI to my very obsolete MacBook. 20th century, here I come!
