...Six to Peri, after being smushed by a robot (oh _dear_...)
I KNOW! Just, in general. I know it's not the best-written serial ever but getting to see those two--er, _four_--together and see them all reacting to each other in character, was just so...! And I think that's also the one that had the bit where Six is like, massaging Peri's neck, or temples, when she got hurt? The "mean", obnoxious Doctor was being tender all around in that one. (Although you're right, it does look like he's SLAMMING Jamie back into the ground. :P)
And I do love that speech he gives, about "nevermore a butterfly". Yeah. That's a good point about the "anti-Dodo sentiment" thing, too. As for Mel...well...I haven't met her yet, but...I imagine she'll be better with Seven, at any rate. I mean, the two actors had already worked together, so that'll help.
Anyway. I'm here to tell you that, despite its obvious problems, "The Mysterious Planet" (Trial of a Time Lord, Parts 1-4) is also lots of cheesy goodness fun. Although it saddens me to think that (a) that's Robert Holmes's last serial ever, and (b) that Peri doesn't get to go out on THAT note. Instead, apparently something really horrible either happens or doesn't actually happen to her in the next serial, and THAT'S her ending. Which saddens me. I _like_ Peri. I don't want her to get offed just because she's unpopular...! (However, it seems the jury's out, and Colin Baker himself wrote, in _his_ Doctor Who novel, that she turned out all right. I think in this case I'll just consult a Doctor.)
Anyway. Ya gotta at least somewhat love any serial that contains an expression like THIS:
(Did I take lots of screenshots of the scene where Six was being fussed over, petted, handing out jelly-babies to bad guys, and having his pockets embarrassingly searched? YES I did! :P)
So...yeah. What this all goes to show is that there is good to be found in even the least popular eras of Doctor Who...if only people would bother to look.

I'm sorry, every single time I see this expression I just can't..._stop_...LAUGHING!
But also pretty ones like this:

Not to be outdone on the goofiness front, Peri tries her own Four impression:

...or her soul is leaving her body, whichever. :P
And how can you dislike a pair that can be this sarcastic to each other...

(heart rips out)
I don't care _what_ anyone else says; these two are Win on Toast. I have spoken.
And of course, we can't forget handing out of jelly-babies!
