If anyone has ever wanted to hear my personal philosophy in under a minute,
here's a clip from Boy Meets World that got it perfectly*.
Shawn: Eric, y'know, I feel really good about my life right now. Because, when I took off in my dad's trailer, I had a moment, just one moment, that made everything completely clear for me. I was looking at the night sky, and I could see *everything*. Stars, planets, galaxies...
Eric: You must have felt *so* small.
Shawn: I did. I totally did. I felt like a speck who is here for one moment in time, and then gone. And I decided that, while I'm here, I want to be with my friends, and the people I love. Because, when I'm with you guys, I don't feel that small. That's what I figured out.
Eric: But that's...for you.
Shawn: Yeah, that's for me.
Eric: So, I guess I gotta figure stuff out, too, but...for me.
Shawn: For you.
Eric: I'm glad you came back, Shawn.
Shawn: 'S a nice talk.
Eric: Yeah, it was. We should do this again sometime.
(Side thought: ARE THEY GOING TO BE ROOMIES FOR REAL NEXT SEASON??? THEY SHOULD TOTALLY BE ROOMIES FOR REAL.)
* It's not really a coincidence that this is what happened the first time my current Co-Favourite Characters from Anything Ever had a conversation just the two of them.
Also, I do realize the irony in me asserting this philosophy two weeks before moving halfway across the country, far, far away from everyone I know and love, but I couldn't do it without the internet and cell phones to keep everyone close.
