1) I was halfway through composing the thought, "The ways in which this is ridiculously dumb are manifold," when the villain opened his mouth and it was Will Freaking Friedle. Coming just after I watched the BMW episode with the "Good Looking Guy" dream, this could not be more perfect. (For the record, it was totally the way he said the "a"s in "favourite charity" that gave him away.)
1a) Gearhead? OH GAWD, THAT IS SO PERFECTLY HORRIBLE. NEVER CHANGE, THE BATMAN.
1b) They keep doing this thing I really appreciate where they cast people I love in episodes that would otherwise be boring as hell to me, so I'm almost always at least a little interested. Thanks, y'all!
1c) YES, RIDICULOUS WILL FRIEDLE VILLAIN, PLEASE DO "KICK IT UP A NOTCH." THIS PLAN IS ALWAYS A GOOD ONE.
1d) Who knew he had such a petulant little snicker? That's the kind of laugh I imagine you only develop if you grow up on a racist planet like Draco Malfoy.
1e) It's obvious - to me, at least - that what we need now is a Firefly/Gearhead team-up. It would be the shittiest villain team-up of all time, and it would be divine.
1f) Also interesting to note is the fact that Fred Willard pulled off a reasonable impression of a normal human being in this episode, much as Adam West did in the last one. Weird.
2) "This is one villain the Batman *needs* wheels to stop." Wouldn't it actually be easier to strike from above in this case? I think a car is not the ideal way to defeat a car, if you have other options, since you have all of the same limitations as the person you are pursuing.
3) Oh, gawd, circus music and Kevin Michael Richardson voicing a bit character. The title "Brawn" led me to believe I would be safe from terror, but that doesn't look to be the case. And, OH SHIT, Joker's on steroids and grossly creepy as crap.
4) "You know all clowns are evil, don't you?" A girl after my own heart! Barb, I need you to be in all of the episodes, okay? You are too precious for words. (Gordon's "That's my girl?" was just adorable, too.)
5) Seriously, only Joker and Batman (and Batgirl!) can make a typical Hugely Muscled Head-Ripper episode this interesting and engaging. It's certainly far less terror-inducing than the typical Joker fare, but I'm not really complaining right now.
Also, it's probably because I just read the fifth chapter of The Princess Bride today, but there are things here that feel very Fezzik vs. Dread Pirate Roberts-y.
