"'Ow, that hurt'?"

I love you, Terry.

I also love that Simon Harper was Tristan Rogers.  Now I have this urge to watch Rescuers Down Under.
(Query: Are the smushy feelings for the high school character creepier than the smushy feelings for the kangaroo rat character?)

Add this one to the Freaky Weird Coincidences of 2011 list* - I found this in that issue of Damage Control I got when I ordered that Marvel grab bag:

::sniff::

For some reason I cannot adequately explain, I decided to watch "Halloween" while I dyed my hair this evening**.  I obviously know exactly what comes of everything, but I still found myself reacting to "Hello, Ripper" and the ensuing scenes almost exactly the same way I did the first time I heard it.  Hats off to everyone involved in that twist.
Also, I laughed forEVER at Giles' reaction to Willow showing up in the library as her costume.

* One might be tempted to point out that, duh, this doesn't count as a separate coincidence from just getting that particular comic the week that the writer died because they obviously just spotlighted the writer in his comic.  Nuh uh.  I went ahead and ordered the other three issues in that series before I read #3 (hence it taking so long to read it), and they all have Pro Files of people who have nothing at all to do with Damage Control, as far as I could tell.  Thus, legitimate Freaky Coincidence of 2011.

** Which is another candidate for the Freaky Coincidence of 2011 list, since I was not at all thinking of the Willow subplot when the episode was selected.  No, I watched "Just Rewards" after "Lie to Me" a couple of days ago, and have since been in SUCH a Spike mood, I started back at "School Hard" last night and am watching episodes he is in.  Also, I'm not sure why I decided to dye my hair.  I think it was part statement of identity/independence***, part I needed a change, and part I had a coupon.

*** Y'know, because I'm making myself look slightly more like someone else.  No irony here at all.
(Actually, I went with a darker colour this time, so it really looks more like the time one of my friends in junior high tried to dye her hair with Kool Aid and wound up with Barney (the dinosaur) purple hair instead of the red she wanted.  I'm pretty sure I'll stick with the colour I used in October from now on.  This isn't terrible, it's just...more like I dyed my hair maroon than like I brought out the red and toned down the blonde like last time.)

no capes, giles is so completely my hero, comics, how do i live?!
