So, I decided to watch The Enemy Within yesterday instead of moving on to "The Spearhead from Space" because I'm just not ready yet.  And, in rewatching it, I realized something:

I may or may not have an autographed copy of a Stephen King novel. (Did I already rant on LJ about this? Man, I'm gettin' old ...) Last year our Library was discarding a bunch of books of which we had two or more copies, including a load of Stephen King books -- and the head reference librarian, knowing what a mad King fan I am, said I was welcome to have any of the discarded King books that I wanted. There were a TON of them, and they were all in huge-ass hardback version (most King books are, like, 900 pages, so they're HUGE books), and so I only took four or five of the ones in nicer condition. I also narrowed my choices down to ones that I A.) hadn't read yet, and B.) were the more "well-known" King books -- like "Misery" and "Needful Things" (actually, NT isn't that well-known; it's just that it's his final Castle Rock book, or at least I think it is, so I figured that one would be worth taking ( ... )

Authograph finds are the coolest things ever, I've decided. I mean, like I said before, I already have one from Haldeman that really should be more special because I met the guy and heard him talk about being a writer, which is just...well, you know what it's like ^_^ It's not anywhere near the same level as finding a signed King because Haldeman lives here in town and seems like the kind of guy who would just wander into a bookstore and sign all of his books on a whim. But that was just _too cool_ a thing to find. Too cool ( ... )
