Watching "Do I Know You?" and "Crush" in the same night just drove home what I said before RE: Barney = Spike. Similar mannerisms, even. Not to mention how much fun it is to watch them both being beaten down by women they've wronged.
Also, Barney was definitely channeling Captain Hammer a little in that one, no? The way he said a couple of the lines, I mean. He's always got the womanizing idiot bit down.
And, seeing as we have just watched "Crush," "The Thin Dead Line" is the only thing standing between us and the awful that is "Reprise" and...well...pretty much the rest of BtVS*. And even "The Thin Dead Line" ends fairly awfully.
I've long since blown the fact that Lilah is the vilest character on Angel; perhaps I'll do a better job keeping to myself my feelings about the BtVS character who _almost_ took that title (I don't care _who_ knows that I hate Caleb most of all, since it's really only a manner of a minute or so after you meet him that you discover that for yourself. Also, he pisses me the hell off.)
* To clarify for those of you who haven't heard this rant before, "awful" here refers to the bleak, soul-crushing situations, not the quality of the episodes. Although there are a couple of Season Six eps that verge on the awful-in-that-sense - the best thing about "Wrecked" is the visuals during the scene at Rack's and the use of Laika's "Black Cat Bone," and a part of me will never quite forgive David Fury for turning Giles into the most nonsensical deus ex machina this side of Cardiff.
ETA: I've just started watching "This Little Piggy," and I can't help but wonder why Justice League going all Unlimited seems to have translated to Unlimited Wonder Woman, Very Little Martian Manhunter, And Absolutely No Flash...
(Also, a severe lack of Hawkgirl**, although there's at least a story reason for that one. Doesn't make me miss her any less...)
** Not to be confused with "Hott Girl," which is what the (Former) Quasi-Roommate thought I said when, after crawling under my bed and lifting the entire thing up with my legs so I could put the frame back together and get it back up on the riser it had fallen off of, I announced that I felt like Hawkgirl.
EOATA: "No. No dating for the Batman. Might cut into your brooding time." Someone had _obviously_ been watching Angel. Someone _other_ than the casting director, I mean.
