Fabric Lust List

It's my day off, not much is happening, so I might as well make a completely self-indulgent post. And if I want to align it to the centre, I bloody well will!

Things I Desire

To be fair, I could fall in love with almost any of the fabrics from ReproDepot.com, but this one in particular I need. It's insane. It's birds and beans. Yes, yes, I completely see why you chose this motif, Mr.-or-Mrs.-Fabric-Designer. *mind boggles* I think I need it made up into a pinny to wear in the kitchen, since a large proportion of the things I cook are beans and/or chicken based.

I can't get over this one, I love everything about it! The naiive, muted colours, the mirrored repeat (because I love to say "screw you" to grainline instructions and flip pattern pieces), the adorable almost Engrish text ( "Everyone has a pleasant weekend" indeed!), and the cute little pictures. Every time I look back at it, I see a new detail - have you seen the squirrel yet? How about the hedgehog? How many edible items are there?

Oh, come on. Come. On. It's rubber duckies! And bubbles! Alexander Henry can do no wrong in my book (except that now the whole world and his sister has discovered the "Tattoo" print, it's all over bags and poorly made dresses. :( Makes me sad.)

Aww wow! It's grass! I can almost smell freshly cut lawns just looking at it :)

I love this, I'd have to make it into a tight-fitting 1950s wiggle-dress, with a cropped boxy jacket and huge shades. And carry a Pomeranian under my arm. Oh, and a matching pillbox hat!

This represents damask. Any and all damask prints. Any colour, any size, I've yet to find a damask that doesn't make me weak at the knees. Make it in Wedgewood-Blue-and-White and they'll have to scrape me up off the carpet. Holy crap I love damask. This one in particular is a Micheal Miller design. If only the background colour was chocolate, it would have me running in circles.

And now, back to real-life sewing. I swear, I work harder on my days off at the sewing machine than I ever do in the poxy nut-shop. I seriously need to get my act together and find a way to sew for a living...
