A little bit on the reasons of the “le revance de Dieu” effect described by Huntington
and on the contradictory Flynn effect and Market autocracy effect as well
Richard Dawkins “the God delusion” Meta-analysis is the technique whereby an investigator looks at all the research papers that have been published on the topic and counts up the number of papers that concluded one thing, versus the member that have concluded something else. On the subject of religion and IQ the only metaanaslysis known to me was published by Paul Bell in Menza Magazine I 2002 (Menza is the society of individuals with high IQ..) Bell conclude ” of 43 studies carried out since 1927 on the relashionship between religions belief and one's intellegence and\or education level, all but four found an inverse connection. That is the higher one's intellegenge and education level, the less one is likely to be religious and hold “beleifs” of any kind
Frank Sullivan et al researches proved that religiousity is negatively correlated with education ( more highly educated people are less likely to be religious), with interest to science and political liberalism. There is positiv correlation between religiosity and parents' religiosity, sociologists studying British children have found that only about one in twelve break away from their parents religious beliefs
Religiosity s indeed negatively correlated with education (more higher educated people are less likely to be religious religiosity is negatively correlated with the interest to science and (strongly) with political liberalism
it was, of course, a lie what you read about my religious conviction, a lie wich is being systematically repeated. I do not believe in personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religious then it is unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it.
The paradox has been noted that the United States, founded in secularism is now the most religious country in Christendom... I suppose, and this suggestion stems from the observation that America is the country of emigrants/ there is no doubts that many Americans see their own local church as an important unit of identity, which does indeed have some of the attributes to an extended family
Yet another hypothesis is that religiosity in America stems from the secularism of constitution. Precisely because America's legally secular, religion has become free enterprise. Rival Churches complete for congregation - not least for the fat tithes that they bring - and the competition is waged with all the aggressive hard-sell tecniques of the marketplace. What works for soap flakes would work for God, and its result is something approaching to religious mania among today's less educated class
I don't try to imagine a personal God; it's sufficient to stand in awe at the structure of the World, insofar as it allows our inadequate senses to appreciate it A Einstein
There is much more on religiosity effects and on its interrelations with human psychology and science. I could not reprint it all here. Just get reading it, it was issued on 2006. Pay special attention to the influence and it's effects applying in politics. I wonder that you had not yet read it
Arguments for God's existence
:-)) Bet I can prove God exists"
"Bet you can't"
"right then, imagine the most perfect perfect PERFECT things possible
OK, now what?
Now, is tat perfect perfect thing real? Does it exist?
No, it's only in my mind
But if it was real would be the most perfect, because a really really perfect would be even more perfect, because a really really -perfect thing would have to br better than a silly old imaginary thing. So I've proved that God exists. Nur Nurny nur nur all atheists are fools.
One of the most powerful arguments - the one from Sheer Will: I do beleive in God! I do. I do, I do. I do believe in God! Therefore God exists!
