Pattern is behind an LJ cut

Worsted weight yarn
Crochet hook size G or 6
Changing colors - As you are working the last dc of a diagonal of color A, preparing to work a diagonal in color B, using A, yo, draw up a loop, yo, draw through two loops, drop color A and pick up color B, yo with color B, draw through two loops, begin the next diagonal using color B.

Diagonal one: Block one: Chain 6, dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in each of next 2 ch
Diagonal two: Block two and three: Ch 6, dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in each of next 2 ch, turn the first square so the back is facing you, and the top of the 3 dcs are against the new block you just made. Join with a sc to the first dc you made in that block. Ch 3, 3 dc in the ch 3 space.
Diagonal three: Block four, five and six: Ch 6, dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in each of next 2 ch, turn, *join with sc, ch 3, 3 DC in ch 3 space.* Repeat from * once.
Diagonal four: Block seven, eight, nine and ten: Ch 6, dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in each of next 2 ch, turn, *join with sc, ch 3, 3 DC in ch 3 space.* Repeat from * twice.
Repeat diagonal four, increasing the repeat by one for each added diagonal until one dimension is as long as you want it.
If you are making a square, stop on the Decrease Diagonal when you reach the last "join with sc" and turn.
Decrease diagonal: Slip stitch in each of the 3 DC, ch 3, 3 DC in ch 3 space, *join with sc, ch 3, 3 DC in ch 3 space.* Repeat from * across.
If you are making a rectangle, continue increasing at the growing edge until it reaches the length you want, and remember to stop and slip stitch on the static edge.
At the very end, turn and slip stitch in the last 3 DC.
Tuck in all the ends.

Picture of afghan -in-progress here.

And another picture.

More pictures, of the process, and how one turns the first block to join the second block to it, to come after I take them and get them onto the computer.
