A bone of contention I've had recently with liberals turns out to be no contention after all. Human rights and freedoms are not exclusive to the United States; these rights and freedoms are to be enjoyed by all humans everywhere. Just because a bunch of wigged, White men in Philadelphia wrote them down doesn't make them exclusive to the USA.
Everyone in the world is entitled to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Life: the right to live as the individual sees fit and not to be killed by another for injust reasons. Liberty: the right to live free within society and to not interfere with another's liberty or life. Pursuit of happiness: do what makes you happy and generates wealth, without undue influence by society or government.
Unfortunately, for all of humanity, a subsection of those powdered wig guys in Philly tried to enumerate those rights in Amendements 1-10. Now, some believe that sexual orientation needs to be a subset of those rights endowed by God because Man saw fit to start illustrating just what those rights are.
Now comes the United Nations, a "wretched hive of scum and villany." Recently, the UN
passed a resolution to:
"...[affirm] the duties of member countries to protect the right to life of all people with a special emphasis on a call to investigate killings based on discriminatory grounds. The resolution highlights particular groups historically subject to executions including street children, human rights defenders, members of ethnic, religious, and linguistic minority communities, and, for the past 10 years, the resolution has included sexual orientation as a basis on which some individuals are targeted for death."
