I've been a very busy girl over the past couple weeks. I've been throwing a whole lot, trying to get enough stock before we leave for Georgia at the end of the month. I've been throwing at least 12 vessels a day five days a week, but most days, I get 24. I went through 100 pounds of clay in one week and I probably have... let's see... over one hundred pieces in some form of doneness. And I just threw three large (for me) pitchers today. That was between throwing a bunch of mugs, cleaning the wheel (which I need to do again), marinating tuna steaks, writing checks for the Prices' bills, running to the bank, and playing doggie shuttle to the groomers. I've discovered that a Great Dane, a boxer, and a mutt can fit in my car. I also discovered that the trip back is a lot more chill than the ride there. The ride to the groomers was interesting because the dogs were all excited, trying to sit in the front with me, trying to stick their heads out the windows, and being hyper dogs in general. The ride back, they were tired and all stayed in the back. Sobaka sat in the middle and rested his head on my shoulder for the bulk of the ride and Gauge and Dog curled up and slept (Sobaka's currently sleeping on his back with his paws sticking out every which way). Baka and I have been spending lots of quality time lately. Abe's been working on renovating the foreclosure the Prices' bought the other week and can't really have the dog with him, so he stays with me in the morning and rides around in the car with me. We went to the bank and used the drive thru the other day, causing quite a stir. I've been enjoying my days by myself... just me, the stereo, my wheel, and the cats. As long as the cats stay out of my stuff, it's downright peachy. They did knock over a board of mugs last week, though... still can't figure out which cat it was. Anyway, this daytime makes up for evenings right now. To help with the rennovations, Bill has come down and is staying with us. This is the same critical bastard from the market fair who commented on my driving and told me my pottery was too expensive. Now I get to hear him bitch about my cooking. I'm cooking for the Prices still, and they're open to anything, so I've been trying different recipies like wasabi tuna (tonight's main course) and my white chili. Plus I have to put up with the bachelor mentality on the toilet... damn seat's always up. Abe has always been good about the toilet because they always keep the lid down here... dogs and cats drinking out of the toilet is bad. But Bill's lived on his own for ever and doesn't care... and can't aim. Ugh. Abe's just about had it working with him too... he's just a very hard man to get along with. And his dog is a bitch, in all senses of the word. After the rennovations are done, I think Abe's looking into someone else to help him build the house and the barn because I dont' think anyone can take much more of this guy. Oh well. We're going to my parents' tomorrow so that Abe and my dad can go to an auction. I'm just looking forward to alone time with my sweet baboo and without Bill. Anyway, here are some of my latest pieces, as well as pictures of the suspects for the cat disaster.
