Well, since I've been chronicling new things in this live journal lately, I suppose I should add the experience of my first car accident to the list. In short, big red truck turns left across two lanes of traffic without seeing me and I smack straight into his side.
Terrible really just doesn't describe it. It happened so fast and I've got some strange memory lapses. Even days later it still doesn't seem real. My poor little silver Altima is totaled. I have to say, though, that that car kept me from serious harm. Granted, certain parts of my body look as if someone took a baseball bat to them, but thankfully there's nothing broken.

Lessons learned:
First, there are some really great people out there. From the police and paramedics to regular people on the street, they took such good care of me.
Second, Wear Your Seatbelt! Coupled with the airbag, mine truly saved me.

Recovery includes a weekend with my favorite person and some M. Night Shyamalan. I'm thinking that will do the trick (along with some advil!).
