Cheap Entertainment

I thought I had to be at work at 9AM this morning, but somehow I got my schedule wrong and didn’t have to be in until 3PM. My mother called early to tell me that I could go back to bed, but little did she know, I hadn’t made it out of the bed at all. It was 8 and I was still lying there after having hit the snooze button over and over again for 45 minutes. Guess luck was on my side this morning.

Therefore I scored some extra hours of sleep and dreaming. I must say that recently I have had some of the most bizarre and vivid dreams. From a dragon crash-landing in my front yard to teleporting to a Tahitian mountaintop, they’ve been pretty entertaining. Take my dream last night/this morning, for example. I dreamed it was Halloween. I was riding in a car with costumed friends, but sadly I lacked a costume. I didn’t know what I should be. Then we stopped to pick up my significant other and he climbs in the car dressed as Kid Rock. I mean, complete with the hat, sunglasses and white tank top. I didn’t like this at all and informed him that if he thought we would go as a celebrity couple with me as Pamela Anderson, he was mistaken. Strangely enough, when he got into the car that made two Kid Rocks in the party because there was already one in the backseat.
Later, I was still unhappy because I didn’t have a costume, but I looked down at my clothes and realized I was already halfway there. I had on a crisp, white button-down shirt and black pants and it hit me that I could be Mia Wallace (Uma Thurman) from Pulp Fiction. I looked in the mirror and decided I needed to do something with my hair - so I got some scissors and started chopping away. I cut little bangs and made the overall length just right and then I started freaking out: my hair is blonde! I realized I just should’ve gotten a wig in the first place. But I put on some dark red lipstick and made the best of it …

So if the need arises for a costume come Halloween, I think I might actually opt for the Mia Wallace look (with a wig, of course), but I must say that I could definitely do without Kid Rock on my arm!
