Thoughtful
I just finished 'The Woodsman' a Kevin Bacon film with Kyra Sedgwick, it's about a pedophile who's released from prison after 12 years, and is trying to get his life back together..I was surprised that Loren didn't bring it home before I saw it in the store, it's just up his alley..dark human gritty drama? That's my hubby. But he said that a co-worker of his had watched it and complained that they had tried to make the pedophile the victim, while ignoring how many victims that he created.
I grabbed it anyways because I was interested to see Kevin Bacon truly play a 'bad guy'. I think the co-worker was right, I appreciate that they tried to make him 'Human' and that they let him redeem himself to some degree by stopping his near molestation of a little girl, but honestly throughout the whole movie I was getting the feeling I was supposed to pity him and his plight. I don't have pity for him and his plight. I rooted for him to pull through to become more than what he was, to redeem himself and show that change was possible..yes..but I do not pity him for the actions that brought him to where he was when the movie started.
It was a..interesting movie, I wouldn't call it a good one, but it was something that I think will linger.
I have a question though, are he and Kyra Sedgwick together? they are in a awful lot of movies together at least.
Bleh still working on the site, finally got it uploaded somewhat and am still dickering with it, ran into some troubles and gave up for the moment, mind is racing though, thinking things through..I could get magnolia-moon to direct towards here if I shift some things around..that thought is a little interesting to me and I will talk it over some more with myself and others. Bleh.
I feel like I should have had a nap with the boychild. Lord am I tired. And of course once again? Laundry has not been done..but I will get to it I promise.
