I am tired.
I am always tired it seems. I get Gabe on a good sleep schedule and something screws it up, life, him being more sick, people over here, people not. We're up, we're down, we're watching the tv. Bones, West Wing, Eddie Izzard. He is a good baby, he laughs, he squirms, he kicks fat legs and chubby thighs and swings his arms above his head as he coos and writhes and laughs. He also throws up a lot, I'm not sure why. The doctor said it could be reflux and we've tried oatmeal, and gas drops and sitting up and smaller feedings and still he soaks me, soaks his father, soaks outfits, soaks burp rags. But he is a happy baby and it is a joy to be his mother.
Hunter...Hunter is going to be a parenting post in a bit here when I can get my thoughts together about it. But he is a good boy trapped in an angry boy's body.
We are both healing, aching from loosing our friends. I lost a sister, a comrade, a compatriot, a babysitter, a friend. He lost three friends, more cousins than friends, tumbling puppies that he could dog pile with and worry out small little things about being a kid with. We both are trying to fix an aching hole.
Gabe's cold gets worse, better, it rolls and comes and I am tired of his cough and his stuffy nose. I forget what it is like to have a healthy baby and that makes me sad.
I am here..I need to get back into the habit of writing once again.
I'll start with small posts, writing out things.
I'm knitting again and it feels really good. I've churned out a Noro Scarf and am working on a sock right now. I got the yarn from knitpicks and it is lovely yarn soft and squishy and superwash merino. I am already planning another noro scarf, the first is going to Washing ton, amazingly not to Fayne but to another friend, this one will go to Pittsburgh. I am sending winter wool in time for summer. I am never on time for anything.
I have another laptop coming, this one is more suited for what I am going to need for school, the other one will be Loren's..he'll tinker with it and make it awesome or something.
I have posted pictures on flickr of the scarf, will get up the sock soon enough.
I know this post is random and weird, but I am trying to put things that seemed important down, so that I have them all out. Like the fact that Saturday I had a fauxgiving. Did a great big turkey dinner with most of the trimmings and I am extraordinarily pleased that I did...right now there's making for left over turkey sandwiches and I got to try out a new meat thermometer. Bird came out perfectly by the way long live the awesomeness of the meat-meter!
Alright, I have caught you all up mostly, and I'm gonna sign off, take pics of the scarf and the sock in progress, finish my cup of coffee then pick up the living room and do some laundry.
I will write more I promise.
cooking,
friendships,
daily stuff,
