It looks like I will be able to participate this year after all. I have been having some health issues of my own for a couple of months, a reoccuring pain in my lower right abdomen, I know what you're probably thinking and you are probably right.
I have seen the doctor on Monday and had my second CT Scan on Tuesday, the doctor thinks I have a condition that they didn't think existed, which is a Chronic Appendicitis. Something causes my appendix to became inflamed but before it progresses very far my super duper antibodies fight off the inflammation and the pain subsides until it happens again. I have to go talk to a surgeon, I will probably have to have it removed because it apparently is at the upper limits of size and it is probably just a matter of time before it goes nova.
However, at the moment my white count is normal and I'm experiencing only the slightest of discomfort so the surgery can wait until another day.
Today Ani, Kate and I will be participating in the Relay for Life of Eden Prairie a Cancer Walk Fund raiser for our second year.
We are on team:
Cure-ageous Knitters Kate, Ani and I are participating in moral support of Lisa, our Team Captain and Ovarian Cancer Survivor.
Kate has agreed to have her hair cut and donated to Locks for love, (if they can fit her in, the schedule is pretty full)
If you are interested in making a donation to the American Cancer Society, My donation page is
here and Ani's page is
here.
For a donation of $10 we will decorate a luminary in memory of or in honor of someone fighting cancer. If you would like one please send us an e-mail with your info and we ( and when I say "we" I mean Ani & Kate) will decorate a luminary with their name to place on the walk.
Whether you are able to make a donation or not this year, Kate, Ani, and I want you to know, We love you, nothing more, simply that; We love you.
Can you believe that more than 1.3 million new cancer cases are expected to be diagnosed in the United States this year? Those are staggering statistics, but there is hope. Each of us can do something to save lives and help those already fighting this disease. That’s why I’ve decided to take action against cancer by supporting the American Cancer Society Relay For Life® event right here in our community.
Relay For Life is an overnight event that brings our community together to help support the American Cancer Society and its lifesaving mission to eliminate cancer as a major health problem. The Society works hard every day to prevent cancer and save lives by supporting groundbreaking research, affecting public policies that protect us from cancer, and educating people on how to prevent or detect cancer early. The Society helps people with cancer right here in our own community. And our efforts at Relay For Life can help the American Cancer Society to keep working toward a cancer-free future.
I want to invite you to show your support in the ongoing fight against cancer by joining us for this year’s event. Please click on the link below for more information, including details on the inspirational Survivors’ Lap and the moving Luminaria Ceremony. We hope to see you there! If you can’t join us, will you please visit the site and make a donation to support our efforts? Either way, you will make a real difference in the lives of people facing cancer - and in the lives of the people who love them. Thank you!
